Nice one for the responses and feedback hopefully have something new tomorrow. It's the first thing I made a couple of days after getting the Akai, just as an experiment to get to grips with it all. Yeah, all about the phasing effects, can get well mad with different filter envelopes on each group too!Įnjoying using the Renoise delay column (and same sample on different key-groups and outputs) to get that fat phase/flange effect on breaks, can hear it in this tune. Sum column stata, Compot de gutui cu pere, Renoise redux, Usa ultrasurf, Garbarino dia de. Looking forward to getting back on the tunes tomorrow! (Then back to work Sunday, shite, lol) Atlas florae europaeae volume 16, Ramsbottom festival rumours. Have only had a few weekends of time to really use it so far, I work away from home and have been really busy recently. I am working a lot with notes+effects, and there a lot of commands without notes (just think of a gater-effect with alternating volumes 00 and 3F the whole pattern). Also really keen to add a compressor into the mix :) Still got a lot of experimenting to do such as running the same break through a few desk channels simultaneously, trying some form of multiband eq, and stuff like that. It lets you compose, edit and record production-quality audio using a music tracker-based approach. Then doing work within the sampler + EQ on the desk, maybe resampling if needs be. Not sure, any thoughts? (Provided what I've said makes sense).Īs for processing, I've been recording the breaks raw into the Akai, from either vinyl or WAVs on the computer. In Renoise just with samples obviously you can just do that in the volume column as it moves down, likeīut with the Akai I guess it just receives the velocity value attached to the note. on the carrier will lower/increase the entire instruments overall volume. One thing I did wonder about was, can you do stuttering effects, such as at 1:22 in this tune? For example, hitting F1 at the pattern editor note column will give you a. Was trying to look up sysex commands for more advanced editing but it just confused me, and I think it might be unnecessary for what I want anyway. I've been well enjoying the limitation it brings, especially since I've been trying to do absolutely everything in the Akai so all Renoise is doing is handling MIDI (which it does properly well, dead impressed!) Yeah it's a shame about that reversing thing, I thought you'd be able to do that with a new key-group, but as you say it makes you think about your tune and your memory use.
